The Story
This a truly unique coffee from Lot 20 in Homa Bay, Kenya. This vibrant, anoxic fermented (oxygen-free!) coffee undergoes an experimental process with Ava fungus, unlocking a nice complexity of sweet shop and tropical flavours. Grown at elevations reaching 2000 masl, this naturally processed coffee is the brainchild of farmer Sidney, who pushed the boundaries of fermentation to enhance its acidity and depth.
Brought over to the UK by our partners at Omwani coffee, a relationship driven importer who specialise in coffees from East Africa. This coffee is a great example of the benefits of a longer term, direct relationship where producers are given financial assurances to experiment with post-harvest processing and hopefully adding value to their crop.
