Sourced from our friends at Omwani Coffee. A relationship based East African importer, this is the first season they've brought coffee over from Ethiopia. Omwani pride themselves on building relationships with cooperatives and producers directly, and buying from them year on year. 

In Ethiopia, it's a real challenge to source traceable coffee, as most coffee passes through the Ethiopian Commodity Exchange (ECX). The ECX pools coffee together by region, but doesn't retain the info of the farmers who grew it. Therefore you've got to find an exporter who's willing to work with producers directly. Enter Mercota Trading, who work direct with 10 different producers across Ethiopia, including Negash Abarago, the smallholder responsible this wonderfully fruity and floral washed coffee.
